Minnesota Agricultural Experiment Station scientists annually conduct performance tests of appropriately adapted public and private soybean varieties. Companies are charged a fee for each variety they enter to partially cover the costs of conducting these tests. One of the stipulations of the testing program is that the company is marketing or intends to begin marketing the variety in the next growing season.
